The dominate culture of the Somali people are nomadic who split into different clans however Somalis are also sea fairing people as they were one of the biggest traders in the Indian Ocean. The Somalis lead many empires in eat Africa the two nuggets being Adal and ajuran empire
Somalis are known for their poetry as the Somali peninsula is referred to the land of poets the style of poetry differs from region to region, the poetry is split into two forms gabay which is done by men and buraanbur for Somali women especially performed in weddings.

Ethnic group: Bantu Somali also known as jareerwayne are second largest ethnic group residing in Somalia. They mostly live near the Juba and Shabelle rivers. They are descendants of people from various Bantu ethnic groups.
Somali bantus are agro pastoral people as they mostly reside in fertile lands near the river. The Somali Bantus speak two languages which are Mushunguli and aff Maay which they adopted from the ethnic Somali loving near them

Banaadiri people have traditional festival called Shirka which is a festival that happens annually in the Hamar Weyne district of Mogadishu. This festival is most generally known as dabshiid which translate to lighting of the fire in Somali (Neyrus in Persian)
