I'm getting real sick and tired of people calling bus and bike lanes "gentrification" when in reality they just wanna park and go 50 mph without giving up a lane to public transit and non-polluters.
The largest racial group that rides AC Transit are Black people. 75% of AC Transit are riders of color, and make less than $50,000 a yr. Giving bus riders priority is giving Black transit users priority.
Car users are far whiter than bus riders in Oakland, by far.

99% of this comes from businesses that are just worried about losing business if they sacrifice parking. They need to understand people mostly shop locally, and the transit users arent complaining about their trips to the store clerk like a motorist is about parking
A UC Berkeley comprehensive study called "Transit Oriented Displacement" actually studied the Telegraph Ave bike lanes in North Oakland, which is what im subtweeting.
Pg 87 concludes gentrification was spreading from Berkeley into Oakland not the train station or the bike lanes
