Two quotes I can’t stop thinking about from this story:
a) “It’s not unusual for really strong journalists to be abrasive and difficult.”
b) “When people evaluate the worth of a reporter, I would love for them to take into account how they treat people with less power.” https://twitter.com/dcist/status/1288636677288677379

There’s a huge difference between holding sources accountable and what Di Caro is accused of here, but also as an industry we too often confuse being abrasive and difficult with being a good journalist. We treat being an asshole like a badge of honor.
You can be a good journalist — honestly a better journalist — and show compassion, empathy and fairness.
