Everyone knows he is a racist, classist, stupid addlepate. As the Psalmist says, "May his days be few; may another seize his position."

Now, let's talk about housing and suburbs!
For one, in many places nowadays, the suburbs are wildly diverse. We all know he is trying to be racist. That's his go-to.
But the suburbs being one thing (white, middle class) has not been true in 20 years.
The history of the suburbs - white flight, Urban Renewal, urban expressways, etc. - is 100% racist. But that is not quite what life looks like anymore.
For two, sociologists have been talking for a decade about the "suburbanization of poverty." Inner-ring suburbs, which are still suburbs, have experienced much disinvestment during that time. Economic and demographic data reflect that.
For three, the great American myth is the homeownership somehow just creates wealth. That is not quite true.
For large numbers of homeowners, a house is a giant savings account. Owning many houses can score you a lot of profit (sorry about your soul....), but just one won't.
....unless you happen to buy into just the right spot at just the right time. But that is the exception, not the rule....
You know what will net you some profit, though?
Home ownership + massive policy interventions + consistent municipal investment in your neighborhood.
In other words, government redistributing money your way thru housing policy!
The mythical "housing market" is really a series of gov't interventions aimed rigging the rules to direct money to white families. The goal is accomplished a number of ways, but that is what it is at base....
If you are one of those families, and you get a little lucky, and your city ignores other n'hoods for yours, and you lobby the school board to keep things segregated, then your house/savings account may net some profit.
Last thing, for now:
Houses don't really appreciate much.
But land does.
Wanna destroy racism? Wanna fix the wealth gap? Land reform is necessary.
US Gov't gave it away to white families for centuries. Reparations must include land and self-determination on it.
