To use the term "Mother tongue" itself is HOLLOW and MORONIC to say the least... In todays world.. in Gujarat for eg... a class with 40 students will have 15 non-Gujaratis.. so WTF is "Mother tongue"?.. In the last 25 years.. Gujarat.. which had 90% Gujarati medium schools.. hardly has any Gujju schools remaining... most have turned to English.. Not because they dont like Gujarati.. But bec every parent wants kids to be "Vishwa Garu" like @NarendraModi.. So English.. LOL!
The language medium in schools is because of the DEMAND for English medium... Nobody IMPOSED it on anyone... In fact.. Now that govt wants "Stage Language".. that would actually be an IMPOSITION on schools and children.. So dont bark this nonsense to me ever...
There are other morons who suddenly want everything to turn to "Sanskrit" in schools and colleges... as if that was holding back India in anyway... Such morons dont get.. India has HUGE language conflicts.. Go tell Madrasis to implement Sanskrit schools.. They will REVOLT..
The language issue in schools is a matter of CHOICE.. no need for any IMPOSITION of this or that language... this "Mother tongue" nonsense is only an "Emotional" venting and nothing else... Let people choose what they want.. they know best..
The problem with Indian education.. esp schooling.. is NOT THE language or the medium... Its 1) What is taught... 2) How it is taught 3) The garbage content in books and 4) the shitty manner in which testing is done... Making language a big issue covers up all other evils.. END
