i feel like i’m talking to a wall but like....diversity doesn’t stop at white women and i feel like a lot of people deem that enough when it comes to inclusivity. it’s a step, but!!!
we have to acknowledge that it’s the bare minimum when there are a lot of intersections being neglected in not just music, but a lot of avenues of life
continue to work hard even when it sucks and you feel icky because maybe, just maybe, you’ve participated in exclusionary practices. keep going, and things will be better in the long run
again, i hope this doesn’t sound like i’m on some high horse, just how i’ve been feeling more than usual lately. i’m not perfect, i’m just speaking through my lens of someone black navigating through a primarily white scene
i hope no one takes this the wrong way because i’m not trying to discredit anyone, but i just want everyone to try a little harder than giving black/poc crumbs and thinking it’s enough. it never has been, never will be
