I have never been to Xinjiang. I have interviewed Uighurs in China & Turkey. But I can't honestly say I have 1st hand knowledge of what's happening there. Can you?

But I know Mike Pompeo blatantly lies about HK riots, covid, anything about China so I assume he's lying about XJ
Here's the problem. When it comes to China, there's so many lies by western media. Yes, road cameras CAN be used to oversee ppl. But they can also be used to stop traffic & fraud

I don't trust anything from US media. Nothing. I need to see my own eyes. Truth 99% less sensational
Then people say I can't get everywhere. Well, I try. & because I run a research firm my team & I travel around the country & see things & dig through data at a much deeper level than anyone from ASPI

And because I'm trusted I'm able to see things most foreigners aren't
My firm used to do a lot of business in Xinjiang. My team used to travel there all the time. Then they asked to stop around 2009. Why? They said it was too dangerous w terrorism & attacks on Han Chinese

Obviously something was amiss. Govt had to protect people
