Many of y’all know that I work @VUMCchildren now but was in community based practice previously. I walked into a patient room in clinic today and introduced myself. The mother immediately exclaimed, “I remember you! You saved my daughter’s life about 10 years ago.” 1/3
I had taken care of their infant in the Nursery at another hospital. She had respiratory issues that were resolved after a surgical intervention. She remembered my insistence that something was wrong and making the NICU re-evaluate. 2/3
It is so flattering to know that you have such an impact on patients and you become a part of their family story. Such an honor and blessing today. 🥰
