Growing up evangelical in the 90s, “moral relativism” was the big boogeyman.
Our elders warned us kids about the dangerous idea that all truth claims are valid—
that truth & morality are relative,
mercurial.

and these same elders are flooding our feeds w/ conspiracy theories, pandemic lies, misrepresentations of BLM, & more.
After all, who needs the scientific method when you've got RANDOM VIDEOS OF PEOPLE IN LAB COATS???

If this continues, 2020 may go down as the moment
when the Enlightenment lurched into retrograde,
when our political tribalism overwhelmed our ability to detect the truth,
when frauds with Youtube channels conned an entire generation.
