The virtues of the day of ʿArafah

•Thread•
There are many narrations that speak of the virtues of the blessed day of ʿArafah.

• Among them is that fasting on the day of ʿArafah is a Sunnah for those who are not performing Ḥajj.

1/
Abū Qatādah reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about fasting the day of ʿArafah and he said:

❝It will expiate the sins of the previous and upcoming years..❞

- Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1162

2/
at-Tirmidhī said:

❝The narration of Abū Qatādah is good, and it was recommended by the scholars to fast on the day of ‘Arafah, except for those at ‘Arafah.❞

- Sunan al-Tirmidhī 794

3/
• Another virtue is that Allāh frees His servants from the Hell-fire at ʿArafah.

Āʿisha reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

❝There is no day upon which Allāh frees more of his servants from the Hell-fire than the day of ʿArafat...❞

- Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1348

4/
• The best supplication to say on ʿArafah.

ʿAmr Ibn Shuʿayb reported that The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

❝The best supplication is that which is made on the day of Arafat. The best of it is what was said by myself and the Prophets before me -

5/
There is no God but Allāh alone, without any partners, unto Him belong the dominion and all praise and He has power over all things.❞

And most importantly the day of ʿArafah is the culmination of Ḥajj which is the last pillar of Islām.

And Allah knows best.
