OK so you're back from lunch and you're peaking in on Twitter.

Lots talk about critters in the road, not just here in the park but everywhere. I'm going to focus on Bison but seriously they should all command the same respect

First of all, there's families involved
Slow TF down
From here on out every single photo of a Bison in the road was taken today, within a roughly two hour period. Just to give you an idea of how often you'll find the kids in the road.

Family groups tend to cross as a herd, with the bachelors bringing up the rear
They're not great engineers and don't have the slightest idea about how to judge speeds faster than themselves. So if they're moving at a walk, you need to be moving at a walk.
Tails up means they're ready to rumble. Best to just stop and let them pass. Bison are more than happy and def capable of trashing your car.
The bachelor bulls hoping for some loving, hang out on the edges of the herd. Their frustrations making them more prone to be aggressive. An initial challenge might begin with the stare down.
They'll stare you down in your car just as they'll stare you down standing by your car. It's these bulls on the outskirts of the herd that IMHO you have to watch out for.

Not to be confused with the bachelor herd far away from the action, they're pretty easy.
So here's the plan

He's walking down the road towards you. Just stop and let him walk past. don't roll up on him too close. This one was feeling it and didn't offer much room, he walked past me very close and I didn't take any photo's as he did so as not to set him off.
Scenario He's walking down the road away from you but in the opposite lane.

Stay to his offside, slow down big times, nearly matching his speed and slowly roll past, don't start nothing, won't be nothing, Bison just want some respect. The guy in the truck did well
Scenario 2A he's walking your side of the road away from you, doesn't get out of your way, this happens a lot. If no ones coming try the other lane, he likely wanted your side and'll trade you. Roll past slowly like the truck did in the previous once he takes the off lane.
Scenario, you go left, he goes left, you go right, he goes right. Looks at you over one shoulder, then the other, staying in your way. His tail's up, he waves the end of it back and forth

Don't pass him

Follow slowly and wait for him to decide to let you pass

He owns it
