How to be a better #storyteller—use conflict! The story starts when the conflict begins. Conflict exists between "subjective expectation" and "objective reality". Ex: Romeo & Juliet are star crossed lovers. They should be together. But their families hate one another. Conflict!
This story has been told a million times. Boy meets girls. They fall in love. The conflict gets updated to reflect the times. "You Got Mail"—she owns a little bookstore, he owns a mega-bookstore chain. "Pretty Woman"—she's a hooker, he's a wealthy businessman.
How can you apply this to business? Your client has a customer who has a conflict. They're seeking a solution to this conflict. Your job—find the customer, understand the conflict, design a solution, and tell that story. Charge accordingly. This is the #BizofDesign.
