THREAD : You are listening to FREE MUSIC. Music Artists are suffering, financially.

I think we really need to understand how a music artist earns. There are 2 main ways. Shows and Royalties.

So about SHOWS first.
Shows are no longer happening. Even when they used to, people pay artists literally in pennies in the name of ‘Exposure’. All of the music you hear is for free. We do everything from our own earnings and savings which are mostly from some secondary source.

So, most musicians at a very young age support themselves by freelancing while continuing their studies and make music for the love of it. But at the end of the day, everyone has bills to pay. This is for all my fellow artists out there who are struggling financially.

Now for STREAMING.
Streaming from Youtube is helpful bht most people watch Youtube videos for the actual ‘Video’. Most artists, agaun, don’t have budget to put into music videos. Hence, good music usually goes unnoticed unless you are very well connected.

@Spotify, the major streaming platform is not yet available in Pakistan. So no earning from that platform either. I want you all to please just at least bring this matter to light and help musical artists. No one is asking you to pay for music. We just need #SpotifyInPakistan
