In the UK it is legal for a person who is 16 to marry with the permission and consent of their parent. In many countries across the world this legal age changes and in some it's lower and in some it's higher. Nevertheless, this again is not a good standard to use!
How could a set age (a number) decide the maturity of a person or if they are ready for marriage?
The answer has always been with Islam. Islam doesn't rely on set numbers and it catters to everyone's specific needs and situation.

In the west whether you're an adult or a minor is determined by a number. A 17 year old extremely immature person suddenly and miraculously becomes an adult and mature the minute they turn 18.
You see how this system is extremely flawed and doesn't cater to each individual.

Let us now see the superiority of Islam.
In Islam a person can only be ready for marriage if they are physically and mentally mature. It's not determined by a set number. A person could be 25 and if they are physically and mentally not ready they cannot marry.

Likewise if somebody is younger and they are physically and mentally mature and ready. They're are allowed to marry as long as the consent of the parent or the wali for the girl has been given.

Also with Islam no matter how old a girl is whether she is 18 or 25 or 35. She has to have a wali (guardian) to marry her off meanwhile in the west an immature 18 year old doesn't need her parents consent to marry.

Surprisingly the age of consent to amy sexual activity is 16. In other words a 16 year old is (adult enough) allowed to sleep around and freely have sex with whomever they want.
BUT a 16 or 17 year old who wishes to marry and be free from zina is an issue for these liberals.

If you are so worried about people. I suggest you take your slogans outside university campuses and protest against 16 year olds having the right to have the legal age of consent to sexual activities. Those so called 'minors' and 'children' need your opinions more. ZINA!!!!!!
