On Suffering. [A Thread]

All perception of reality exists only because of contrast.

Our perception of reality, however, is faulty.

We only ever focus on that which we believe to be good for us and never the whole. 1/7
We are programmed to receive and as such never see the full picture of reality.

We spend our time moving towards that which we think will ultimately give us pleasure, or that which we consider good. 2/7
And other times running away from that which we think will cause pain and discomfort.

It is because of this that people cannot understand the purpose of events in their lives, there is little to no contrast. 3/7
They try and solve the problems in their lives by avoiding them.

This is not a solution, this is simply avoidance. 4/7
Those that do try and find meaning and purpose in their suffering do so again with error.

They try and solve the problem from within the level of the problem itself.

This is a mistake. 5/7
To understand the purpose of their suffering, they must look to try and understand the intention behind it.

They must try to look outside the problem itself, to the root. 6/7
Once they can understand the 'why', they will begin to see a greater contrast in the reality of their lives.

And in this, they can hopefully gain a greater understanding of themselves. 7/7
