So... yesterday, I saw a lot of headlines around Aaron Greenberg saying that Game Pass isn't a huge money maker right now. As we've talked about on @VirtualEconCast multiple times (including our show that will go live today), Microsoft is taking a classic acquisition approach.
I'm glad that this is a teachable moment about how service user acquisition works. But I also hope that mainstream outlets invest more in business writing, trends analysis, and explainers.

And I think people are going to be surprised when pricing structures and promotional offers start to change. It would be helpful if media was able to empower readers to have a forward-looking understanding of how the industry ebbs and flows.
I think a lot of consumer-side outrage comes from just... not understanding how things work. There is so much focus on the "what" when it comes to business decisions. I just wish there was more investment in the "why."
