With the official restart starting tomorrow, I remain appreciative at everything the NBA has done to this point with the Orlando bubble and regardless of whether they're able to pull this off, I firmly believe it was the right thing for the NBA to do
There were flaws in the NBA's plan (22 teams instead of 16 expands the pool of people there + increases risk), I think they should have under promised and over delivered on the social activist component of the return — this remains first and foremost about $ (which is fine)
But a multibillion dollar business trying to RESPONSIBLY go back to work, keeping an economy of people employed directly and indirectly by the NBA going, while not compromising on safety is important on both a symbolic and practical level
There are people rooting for it to fail that want to be able to say "I told you so". So much of this is mis-directed energy that should be reserved for the leaders at a global, national, and local level that have totally failed us and surrendered to the virus
Lastly & most importantly:
-If the Lakers win, this title counts at least 2-3x
-If Giannis/Bucks win, this title is a single, proper title
-If anybody else wins, this entire thing was fraudulent, the winning team shouldn't get a trophy, records should be expunged
