This is gonna break some hearts but it is the truth - you know how some companies determine how they will donate money to HBCUs? If they don’t have a connect on staff or within friend network - they literally Google “best HBCUs...”

See if your HBCU comes up high on that search, and then ask if the school has the programs, the leadership, the alumni engagement or the institutional culture to jump up that list...

And then go deeper - guess which entity controls most of the real estate of how we consider the “best HBCUs?” A white-owned media company in US News & World Report...
