I get the frustration and the desire to distance them from the trans community, but the problem is that it sets the example that personal identity is a privilege and not a right. It basically tells everyone that being gendered correctly is conditional on good behavior. [2/3]

Which is a HUGE issue because who decides what constitutes that good behavior? You're giving oppressors and bigots ammunition. Do not do that.

Denounce the person if they do something awful. Condemn their actions, but respect their identity. [3/3]
