I, naively, went to their local Tesco express to grab some ingredients to cook dinner, wandered round shop baffled cos I couldn’t find ANYTHING I needed. I KNEW Tesco sold wholewheat pasta and courgettes, Tesco ALWAYS sold these things.
My bff properly howled with laughter. Because, of COURSE, Tesco sells different things in different places. You can only buy what you can afford, and you can only buy what is actually on sale.
So before you order poor people to eat like you, go visit a Tesco Express in the middle of a council estate and genuinely ask yourself what the fuck YOU could cook, on a tiny budget, given what’s in there and what’s on offer (and all the other problems like time etc).
