We tracked down 68 of the most egregious viral videos of police violence during the recent Black Lives Matter protests. We wanted to find out whether the cops involved received any disciplinary action.
So we collected them into a database

So we collected them into a database

My colleagues @zipporahosei and @mrsimon22 reached out to 40 law enforcement agencies about these 68 incidents of police violence and tried to find out whether they have been investigated and if any criminal charges were filed against the officers involved.
We collected these cases so you can filter your search by:
• Your local police department
• Whether an officer has been identified
• If there’s disciplinary action
You can also watch their videos for context

There are many instances where we don’t even know who the cops are in these violent videos and you can help us identify them.
You can also read this accompanying piece by @zipporahosei and @mrsimon22 about what they found investigating these 68 cases. https://www.propublica.org/article/what-has-happened-to-police-filmed-hurting-protesters-so-far-very-little
This could not have been done without the work of @lhwaldron, @katiezavadski, @schwanksta and our super duo Scripps Howard research fellows @zipporahosei and @mrsimon22..
