It is absolutely amazing that Howard, Hampton, Xavier, and a few other schools received big donations. HBCUs do very important work and produce most of this nation's Black doctors. However, I'd like to point out that most HBCUs are small institutions that perpetually struggle.
These schools are often small and unknown outside of their immediate communities. They are often responsible for many, many first generation college graduates. Let's get a thread going so that folks who are unfamiliar with these schools can donate.
I graduated from Fayetteville State University. It is a very special school to me! There were so many resources to prevent us from falling thru the cracks. You can donate to my alma mater. Select "The Fund for FSU" to donate to the general fund: https://www.uncfsu.edu/give-to-fsu
Many of my friends are graduates of North Carolina Central University. You can donate here: https://www.nccu.edu/institutional-advancement/giving-online

You will notice that most HBCUs were founded in the 1860s and 1870s. Black Americans immediately started teaching after slavery ended. IMMEDIATELY.
