This is why I believe Ecclesiastes contains the best wisdom found in the Bible. Work and careerism are chasing the wind. Those things don't bring fulfilment and satisfaction.
A lot of my most interesting experiences are vicarious ones, percieving the human condition through media (be it a book, movie, TV show, video game). There is a reason the Ancient Greeks believed fiction to be one of the greatest teachers.
Obviously not arguing that doing nothing but consuming entertainment is a good idea. But materialistic productivity whoring is equally destructive.

You're replacing pure joy with mechanical accomplishments. Maybe this is a reason depression and anxiety are on the rise.
TL:DR

Media literacy needs to be a thing. And that includes video games.

Because discussions about these things are always based on assumptions by people who know nothing about them.

Art has so much to teach us about the world.

Stop living in the Middle Ages.
