the victims are all turkish citizens (whether they’re an ethnic minority or not) so it’s similar to bbc news referring to a woman as *british* when she is of, for example, indian origin. a lot of the men attacking women are also kurdish, yet this isn’t specifically pointed out
regardless, this is a very interesting thread and worth reading in light of everything going on
