The devil card reversed for Melinda shows her being trapped with her deepest, darkest fears. But she’s strong. She’s courageous. She can live with this shadow, this darker side. She’s all about short term pleasure and long term pain.

Melinda limits her emotions. She compartmentalizes them.

She values order, rules, regulations, and certainty. This card is also associated with Capricorn, and it’s ruling planet, Saturn. Saturn is about limitations/structures.

Wonder where she gets her energy, passion, desires, lust, struggle, and her pain? The planet Mars is also exalted in Capricorn. Blame the God of War.

The devil may have her chained, but her chains are loose. Always have been. She can remove them any time she wants. What keeps her there are her wounds. As they are still open.

She hides her fears and her emotions from others because she feels too much and lives with little hope.

She is light living in darkness and she’s lonely. But broken things can be mended, and devils can be driven away by a touch.

For Melinda, with the nine of cups reversed she has everything she could want and yet, for her, something is missing.

Cup cards are about, get ready for it, emotions. As a sagittarius card this puts it in the 9th house. The 9th house is about mental exploration. It’s about traveling to distant places (Spirit World!) physically & exploring ideas mentally (empathy!).

The ruling planet is Jupiter (good fortune, abundance, wisdom). This card is about having everything. BUT it is reversed. Reversed means to look around at what you have. Look at the cups upside down, spiling. It’s about appreciating not just the cup but the contents IN the cup.

But that’s always easier said than done. She’s had it all before and she lost it.

And lost it again.

And again.

This card will ask her once again to look deeper within herself. To appreciate all she has.

For the most part, Melinda May’s life had been stressful, demanding, and ridiculously undertaking. She’s been to hell in back (literally). Quite frankly, she deserves many nights in her own bed.

This card is a truce card. A refuge from the chaos that is chosen. To give her mind a rest. Just like the knight in the card, she doesn’t need her swords right now. It’s time for peace, however that looks to her.
