Can't believe I'm witnessing the gentrification of socialism, live on the TL
ppl using it as an opportunity to flex their academic superiority, completely diminishing the original aim of socialism which is to. Improve conditions for the working class, not put the socialist movement behind some academic barrier
I was radicalized by my mum at quite a young age. She in turn was radicalized by her grandpa. He came from an extremely poor background, to the point where he left school and his home at aged 11 to go find work.
He ended up joining the French communist party and fought on the picket lines for many years fighting for workers rights, I.e. paid leave, fair wages, reasonable working hours. He was not educated and I highly doubt he had read any of the classic political theorists.
Just bc YOU were radicalized by political theory rather than lived experience, doesn't mean you understand anything any better than ppl who were radicalized through their life and work
Last tweet I promise. Idk abt anyone else but personally when I see ppl who place much more value on the theoretical academic side of socialism, it really really highlights the level of privilege they've experienced throughout their life
