This data, which is almost certainly an undercount, shows the risks colleges face as they prepare for a school year in the midst of a pandemic. As students have started trickling back onto campuses in recent weeks, the early returns have been troubling.
Student-athletes, many of home are returning to campus early, have been falling ill.
