Education system to be centred as 5 (Ages 3 to 8) + 3 (3rd to 5th Grade) + 3 (6th to 8th grade) + 4 (Class 9-12). Class 10th Board Exam removed. Arts, Science, Commerce streams lifted, students free to choose subjects.
Coding to begin from Class 6, arts, music and sports to be at the same level. Technology to be extensively used. UGC and AICTE to be replaced by a single Higher Education Regulator. Universities to be named not on ownership but quality.
Suggests medium of instruction to be mother tongue till Class 5, Right To Education extended till Age 18. Three Language Formula advocated.
Ministry of Human Resource Development to be renamed as Ministry of Education.
University Entrance exams to be held through Common Entrance Exam conducted by NTA (writer's perspective: a SAT like entrance exam) for admissions.

Universalisation of Early Childhood Care and Education Curriculum to be carried out by Ministry of HRD, Women and Children Development, Health and Family Welfare and Tribal Welfare.

The move is historic as the BJP led Government renews the Education Policy after a sweeping 34 years. Steps to modernize and elevate Indian Education System to global standards.
Since a lot of you are asking, it has been approved by the Union Cabinet and formally announced by the Union Minister of HRD Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The move isn't effective immediately. All measures expected to be completed by year 2030.
Correction: Class 10 and 12 Boards will be continued but will be redesigned to meet the said goals.
