MASON MOUNT - THE KEY PLAYER TO STEP UP IN CHELSEA'S BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON

51 appearances with a staggering 3,573 mins played. He has simply been a machine and a master of versatility. When we needed to secure the UCL spot, Frank's most trusted player stepped up...

1/7
Opening Goal:

In a match where nothing was materializing for almost the entire 1st half, Mason stepped up to provide a moment of magic.

"Top bins" finish!

2/7
"Open Play Assist"

Certain parts of the fan base have given him a lot of stick due to his lack of open play assists. They fail to understand that each player has different roles and Mason's role isn't necessarily a creative one.

Nonetheless, here's one for those fans!!

Yet another chance:

Unlucky Giroud didn't finish this as it would've been a sublime assist from Mason. However, it's the play that I'm more proud of.

He sneakily drifts into the half-space and gives Jorginho an option for a pass. From there great control and cross!

4/7
One-touch football:

Mason's become an engine in midfield as the season has progressed. He drops deep to support in defense or build up. He links up with the forwards to support in the final 3rd.

Has all the credentials to be an excellent attacking 8!!

5/7
Mason "The Press" Mount:

This play here completely epitomizes Mason. This clip defines who he is.

- The awareness
- The reaction
- The press
- The steal
- The run

Stupendous!!

6/7
Clever run:

He knows the kinda player Jorg is. He knows Jorg will spot a clever run and that's exactly what happened here. Unluckily with the final product here or else could've seen yet another assist!

Overall a gargantuan season from Mason - Thank you!
