one thing we didn’t anticipate about the collapse of civilization is how tedious, lifeless and boring it is

just sitting around in a grand decline waiting for the next shoe to drop, still worrying about paying bills, still doing the dishes, still no sense of the past present or future. it’s like suspended animation or something

and yet the contradictions pile up daily with no resolution, without even a sense that resolution is possible or even welcome. this is a very strange time to live in

didn’t get a chance to take a picture but from the belt parkway this morning there was an enormous container shop passing through the glorious verrazano bridge with the sun rising behind it and i glimpsed the fragile sublimity of our material civilization.. hence this thread
