These 2017 vibes everyone is getting is from the hype surrounding #DeFi - i've been talking about it, a lot of crypto twitter has been talking about it, so I decided to drink the cool aid and get involved by providing some liquidity to @CurveFinance - a thread
I love $BTC and due to macro economic conditions, firmly believe the only way is up, but I like my money to work for me whilst I sleep, and I didn't want to convert it into $ETH as I have enough of that... (do I though???)
So I want my #Bitcoin

After reading all of @charlie_eth really helpful blogs on the subject, I was ready to take the plunge and hook up metamask to the platform https://guides.curve.fi/curve-fi-how-to-get-started/
After laughing a little while at the classic Windows 95 #UI - and questioning how billions of assets are locked in a platform that looks like this, I came to terms with the interface and scrolled over all the question marks to make sure I wasn't going insane
I went over another helpful tutorial and followed the instructions to a tee - I new I wanted to provide BTC, and as the tutorial stated, it provided an address to send my BTC to https://guides.curve.fi/how-to-provide-liquidity-on-curve-fi-sbtc-pool/
I did have a small hiccup of concern as I sent my BTC and it was stuck on 84% complete - however this was because I had failed to see the notification on metamask where I need to sign for the transaction - once this was done, it finished quickly, and I could see the balance
Straight away - I was able to see what my profit would be by taking part in the liquidity pool. Is it going to be life changing money? absolutely not, but I am very interested in the governance token rewards. I also felt like this afterwards.
I am not a hugely technical guy, it was an intimidating process, but with time it will be simplified I am sure, and when you use it, it is very easy to see why there is so much hype around #DeFi and the potential going forward.
