The Khed-Roda Group of Temples

These temples (dated 8th-9th century) were built during Gurjara-Pratihara or Rashtrakuta period.

We can see the ruins of only 6 temples at the site, as the 7th is now on papers only. All these temples are east facing.

~ Shiva & Ganesha Temples
It was a group of total 7 temples. It also include a reservoir (Kund) and a stepwell. They are located between Raisingpura (Roda) and Khed Chandarani villages, 18 km from Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat, India. 

~ Vishnu Temple & Navagraha Temple
It is located on the bank of the seasonal stream which merges Hathmati river downstream.

In Pakshi Temple there is no idol, but beautiful carvings of birds can be seen.

There were also lost shrines dedicated to goddess and Surya Dev.

Pakshi Temple & Ladushah kund
Its said that in 2001 an earthquake damaged the temples and our institutions restored them.

Just look at the restoration work done and what is the condition of the temples.

Only base of this temple is left.

The sculptures collected from the site are now housed at the Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery in Vadodara. These sculptures are dedicated to various Hindu deities including one sculpture of Surya.
