/ #brentfordfc Lots of people making snide comments about @Beesotted and the @BBCNews piece. As someone who works in TV news, here’s a thread on how things work ACTUALLY work..
/ Programme Editor decides they want to do a piece on Brentford’s last game at Griffin Pk. Spec - speak to fans. Ask Club if we can film with them inside ground
/ Assigned reporter looks for fans to interview. First port of call will be those they’ve used before (Billy Grant would certainly fit in this category) then possibly looking at fans who have written about GP (Dave Lane’s “Big Book of GP” springs to mind here).
/. Phone Club. “Can we film with a couple of fans in the ground?” Under media access agreement Club pretty much has to agree.
/ Reporter phones potential interviewees. “Want to do an interview with you about last match. Will involve going into the ground.” Why on earth would they say no?! I wouldn’t!
/ This is how it works. How it always has worked. BBC/ITV/Sky find their OWN interviewees.
/ Club’s only involvement will be to agree to allow access. So there it is. Sorry to disappoint those of you who see some big conspiracy theory. Have a great day, and let’s hope for a fantastic evening! #COYB 🐝
