So somehow it's already Wednesday again, so this week's #WednesdayWritingTips are all about time, how to find it, how to use it, and why you need to make it.
You will probably know all this already. Consider this your friendly, weekly kick up the posterior. You're welcome.

There are two problems: when people have too little time to write, and when they have too much.
Too little time - you can never seem to fit it in.
Too much - writing is something you'll get around to eventually, when the mood's right & ideas are there...

Either way, you need to claim that writing time and make it work for you. Books will not write themselves.
If you want your writing to happen, you make it happen.
Best way: Make time. And claim it.

I write this as a homeschooling mum of 6. I know finding time is hard. I also believe it's possible.
What spurs me on? If I'm not writing, someone else is. Ever had a great idea, only to discover someone else is about to publish something similar? That.

If you're serious about writing, then write seriously. Find what works for you. Get up early? Use tea breaks? Think about a certain character every time you boil the kettle? Importantly, don't lose momentum. Once you stop, it's so hard to get going again.

Losing momentum can sometimes happen over summer, especially when it's been such a difficult run-up. Use this time to relax, recharge if you need to, but think ahead. What do you want to achieve from September-December? Make a plan and hit September running.

Lots more I could say but I'm using my time wisely!! A final note: be kind to yourself. Don't push yourself to the point where you're exhausted and resent the very sight of a published book. Push yourself just enough - whatever is right for you. Good luck!
