Cockney Auba Thread:

Seen a lot of talk about Auba and if he is reclassified as a midfielder then he would be a must have FPL option, with midfield slots seemingly gold dust I thought I would look into this in some depth.
Out of 38 gameweeks Auba blanked 19 times out of 38

Out of the 17 returns 6 where double digit hauls.

All 6 double didget hauls coming against teams 12th and lower

His points and blanks seems to come in waves of 3/4 games, so it’s about being on board at the right time
Let’s look at the restart as the behind closed doors format could be the same for the start of next season.

Arsenal played 10 games, 1 more then most. In that time they had favourable fixtures against Brighton, Villa, Watford, Norwich & Southampton
Auba scored 53 points, if he was a midfielder he would have scored an additional 3 points in clean sheets, so let’s say 56 points in 10 games.

When compared to over FPL midfielders in the restart the numbers are:
Bruno- 79
KDB- 73
Sterling- 86
Pullisc- 57

With pep routlette
Conclusion: 1/2

Whilst not disputing him as a great premium option and over the course of the season he is a great option but his stats do show spells of inconsistency which will be frustrating for FPL managers at his high price
Bruno, Salah and KDB are much more consistent in weekly returns. I think it’s important to check arsenals fixture run as he seems to favour bottom half teams, he seems a risky captain pick unless playing one of these teams.

Happy reading, good luck all
