Random thoughts: What is it that we like about innocence? Why is innocence often thought of as pure? Is it the seeming-infinite possibility of freedom in action & thought that the innocent have? Or maybe it is partially a desire to protect the innocent, to protect the weak.
Why do all religious faiths have mysteries? Probably, in part, because there are some things we just don't know. But there's also a more emotional aspect to the Mysterious: a sense of wonder
Is this wonder just because when we don't understand something, we can't think about it and we are therefore forced to just experience it?
Or is this wonder a more intellectual emotion? We have to categorize things and when faced with something wondrous we have complete freedom of thought to figure out what the hell this thing is.
In this sense of wonder there is the easy back-and-forth between believing an idea and doubting that idea. We get to "play" with our thoughts & with our imagination.
In innocence do we cherish or long for that sense of wonder?
