Unpopular opinion: Varna edition.

In ancient India, the mostly impermeable membrane of varna-based occupation led to the honing of expertise over generations. Parents acting as mentors to their children-apprentices meant selfless knowledge transfer and drove excellence.. (1/n)

and can be credited for our achievements across fields like urban planning, architecture, art, music, literature, philosophy. However, this discussion is purely hypothetical and has been so for the past 200-300 years, ever since varna based occupation segregation ceased..(2/n)

Such a system obviously offends modern sensibilities with increased individualism, and importance to social justice and free will. The question now is how can we replicate the workplace environment geared towards personal growth which might have existed then? (3/3)
