Allen was coy about it, but I’ll reveal: I was the one who suggested the disclaimer thing. We talked about it, and I think the convo at one point went to how to release the first cut without it being off putting. I suggested the disclaimer thing and then a sequel.
I’ve made it no secret I’m a big time Ren and Stimpy fan, and I’ve made no bones that I think the Games era made excellent t episodes. And the reports about this movie is depressingly disappointing.
I have no stakes in the movie: I never backed it, never supported it, never talked to John. But as someone who read about what actually happened behind the scenes and as online friends to some of the figures, I can’t be quiet about this. This will be terrible, and I’ll warn.
This movie will be bad for animation history. And I’ll yell at people to not bother and actually read the actual history.
