When Rafale touches down on Indian soil, I am sure most of our chests will swell with pride. It is, but apt to remember the person who started aviation in India and who made Air India as one of the best airlines in the world

Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata
JRD Tata was instrumental in setting modern aviation including flying some of the planes on his own.

He holds the pilot license no. 1 in Indian Aviation history. I would highly recommend the book "Beyond the last blue mountain" - his biography
