Despite changes in the law - Ontario's Court of Appeal ruled that the accused of sexual assault can extreme intoxication in their defence -June 3, 2020 #GBV
3/4 When courts refuse to convict those who violently attack - after willingly and knowingly intoxicating themselves, violence is very likely to rise—especially when alcohol is deemed a necessity during a stressful pandemic. #GBV #DV
4/4 Yes, there is a rise in Domestic Violence during Covid-19, but it's not new so, the big question is why have we allowed it to continue in Canada?
