Hi I’m about to tweet a thread on my current thoughts around #FreeJaggiNow. Please please please read the whole thing before you react or reply to it.
I’m probably going to get a lot of backlash for this but imma just say it anyway. I’m not quite understanding what tweeting a hashtag is going to do. I want to see Jaggi free as much as anyone. Yes, social media is used to raise awareness. Yes, tweeting the hashtag is going to
get the word out. But there’s no movement that is following this hashtag. There’s no protests. There’s no plan for action. This kind of activism is required for any kind of change.

I see a lot of people talking about how we don’t have solidarity from other communities.
These same people are the same ones who were shitting on BLM protests. But notice how those protests/“violence” have been causing some kind of change to occur.

If we want to help Jaggi, there needs to be change. And before we can ask for or even expect solidarity from others,
We need to come together as a kaum to do this. It’s kind of sad how divided we are and how we don’t have the compassion to come together even to save this man who has dedicated his life to this community.

Do you guys think the BLM movement has had any kind of success just from
Twitter? It’s from actively organizing IN REAL LIFE.

Freeing Jaggi is going to take more than just Twitter activism. It’s gonna take protesting in front of embassies. It’s going to take Sikhs wanting you come together FOR him.
You lot who love to shit on leftist Sikhs but talk about how Sikhs aren’t following their warrior heritage anymore... what exactly are you doing besides tweeting about other people??? Y’all talk a lot but there’s no action coming from yalls self-righteous corner
Anyway. In conclusion. Let’s come together to PLAN. I don’t have much experience in organizing and planning protests but I’ve attended enough to maybe have some ideas. Pleaseeee message me if you guys wanna do this with me. I live in fucking Ohio so
I can’t really plan much for the UK sangat who can especially make a difference, but I’m willing to try my hardest. I hope this Twitter thread inspires UK Sikh twitter to go out and protest for Jaggi. He’s been imprisoned for 3 years and we protested maybe 3x.
The last was one was in 2018.... BLM have been actively protesting since YEARS. And this year, they’ve been going at it daily. We need to use their movement as an example. Don’t look at them and ask why is no one doing this for us. Look at them and say we will do it too.
(Sry for bad grammar/typos, I typed this out quickly without any editing 😅)
