...and now, away from our script: This is what is so wrong with this. These people who want to open schools without regard to circumstance are immature believers in magical thinking, who believe if they can scream "whatabout!" enough times that children won't be harmed...
...magical thinking won't stop this. Viruses have no capacity to care at all. They replicate, and that's it. You can pretend they will stop, but they wont until Americans all become adults, more concerned about doing what's right rather than arguing they're right....
...your child might survive. Or not. Your child might get a lifelong condition caused by covid - lung lesions, neurological damage - or not. The armed shooter in your school might target your kid. Or not. Would you send your kid into the school knowing the shooter is there?
