it makes NO SENSE to think of the hogwarts house only within the books because then you're saying "ah yes those shitty metaphors for jews work great also kids who are 12 years old are already bad i can feel it in my bones", you HAVE to go beyond that otherwise everything is shit

and the way you do that is look at what sits at the core of each house. which is what pottermore (with jk rowling's canon writing, if you care about that so deeply) does in a cohesive way, that accepts a less black and white reading bc it's not driven by the book's pov

if you only look at the books the only house??? that matters??? is gryffindor??????? go off i guess i am right about this [rest]

i'm not ignoring the book by the way, i'm pointing out the book is written from a very specific point of view which leads you to believe gryffindor is the shit on purpose, because that's what harry potter (the character) is about, NOT THE MEANING OF THE HOUSES
