The end of the human species is when we try and make the entire world a safe space. Real life is not safe. Viruses, natural disasters, climate change. Everything is coming to kill us. The universe is uncaring. The more "safe" we try and make things, the more screwed we become.
Wells explored the endgame of this concept in "The Time Machine." These are timeless archetypes of what people have observed of cultures by those who can think zoomed out. Ultimately everyone will be docile/compliant, afraid to question anything. The revolution results in cattle.
In Logan's Run fear of aging results in a ritualistic execution of the elderly (at 30!) in order to purge them from our existence and daily view. Fear of aging removed! Pure hedonism all that matters. The machines feed & clothe us but no one needs to think, progress or evolve.
Ultimately we won't even have media that does any of this. It will become infantilized at the risk of offending someone with a worldview which challenges their beliefs. Safe spaces may have done that to a generation. All content in time becomes part of the corporate nanny state.
