Guess What?

You can actually sell a product without looking stupid.

# A Thread
You cannot sell A product if you don’t sound like you know the product enough.

To gain the trust of his customers,

A copywriter once placed the personal phone number of his accountant in a mail-order ad.

What was he selling?
A book that teaches wealth acquisition.

His catch was that he wouldn’t cash the cheque from the purchase of his product,

If the customers don’t see results within a month of buying and applying the principles of his book.

Now tell me why they wouldn’t buy the book?
They don’t have anything to lose.

While you may not have the liberties to apply this same technique,

You can apply other methods that'll make your consumers feel they’re not losing anything with the purchase.

To do this, you need to sound like an expert.
And sounding like an expert has to do with understanding the technical side of the product.

Don’t overlook the technical side of a product because it looks simple or common.

Consumers are looking for an excuse not to buy.
They'll rather spend money on beer than buy from someone who doesn’t know his product.

So don’t give them that excuse.

Aside from building trust, your customer is also impressed when you use words they don’t understand to explain your product.
With this, you build credibility and eliminate all reasoning that may smell like deceit.

By using technical terms to explain your product, you show that you’ve done your research.

A few readers can catch up to jargon, so don’t use it.
Also, every product no matter how simple, has a technical explanation.

That said, make sure you highlight new product features in your copy.

On its own, new features are a selling point.
This is why Companies make a lot of buzz when a new feature is installed on their product.
