My small dive into the RJ world today has taught me that not 1 of the 149 schools achieving the most progress for disadvantaged students has RJ as the backbone (and in most cases at all) to their behaviour policy. This has made me think about a few things.
I put the GCSE outcomes of the most disadvantaged students as the number one reason for me being in this job. It's also an excellent proxy for the overall health of the school. I now know the 149 schools which achieve this.
I want to complete a meta analysis to see what else these schools have in common. I want to visit the ones I have not either been to or led. I want to check that any advice being given to the schools I am responsible for comes from people who have also provided advice to one of
these schools or worked in one of these schools. I've had reinforced that people pitch lots of other things against this like 'inclusion' suggesting you can;t get one without the other - this is nonsense. I'm interested to know if the SEN list contains the same schools as this
list. I definitely advise anyone thinking about (or has already) spent lots of money on RJ or similar to stop and have a look again - maybe start by asking the people selling 'their way' the schools they've worked with an check out their DFE performance table
history for disadvantaged students. And finally @Callum_SEND has once again shown what a top chap he is
