Just had a rather pathetic encounter w a Trumper in my local grocery store. I hope everyone understands how completely demented these folks are at this point, how the aggression and violence that is portrayed/cheered on by their 'leader' now plays out in small, local incidents
I was simply waiting to weigh tomatoes on the produce scale in the store. The Trumpette was in her Maga tshirt & red hat, deliberately parked her cart in front of the scale so no one could use it. Then waited. Bc she wanted to fight. This is craziness, but that's really true.
She got out her phone & was pretending to scroll messages while 5 people waited. I was directly behind her so I politely said, 'excuse me'. That was what she was waiting for. She spun around, literally shouting. 'You can WAIT for me! I heard you! You can goddamn WAIT until
I'm ready! I can stand here all day, fuck you!". Remember- someone simply said 'excuse me' to her. I should add here, I'm the head of a large activist group that deals w media, opposition, etc constantly plus was a teacher for 20 years. Bullies actually are interesting to me in
a sociology kind of way. I'm totally unflappable & not only don't escalate or take bait, but really enjoy laughing at people like this. So she picked the wrong one today. I laughed in her face and calmly said, 'you seem angry'. 'You're damn right I'm angry!' she shouted. 'And
I'm not moving!'. Again, I;m standing there laughing which is making her angrier. 'That's ok, I've got lots of time. maybe we can talk about your psychological problems.'. She spun her cart away from me so fast she practically burned tracks. 10 minutes later, she came up to me
out of nowhere down a side aisle and blocked my cart. Still raging. She pointed to my flax milk & yelled [no this is not parody, this really happened] 'that explains EVERYTHING, you weirdo!'. I laughed some more and pointed to the cafe in the store
'Can't we go have lunch and talk this out?' I asked her [still laughing in her face]. Her brain just went into sputtering clogged wheel confusion then- not only didn't she get to argue or get a reaction, but she was laughed at. I am sure she needed to lie down when she got home
I should also add, I have a very deep voice [despite being small]. I speak very slowly. I am very calm. People that want to incite things don't know what to do with this because it gives them nothing to grab onto
I also carry myself in a poised way and make direct eye contact. I am very still. The woman today was waving her hands, practically jumping up & down. At one point i calmly asked her if she thought she was intimidating, which set her off bc she was 'denied' making someone upset
