Very upset that Good Sudoku has shown me what computers should be, so I can quantify my deep and unending existential despair about tech.

Good Sudoku calls itself a sudoku that loves you, and for once in my life, I agree.
It was built to care about me, about my mental load, about my time in a way no virtual agent every possibly could.
Good Sudoku has more humanity in it than GPT-3.

Good Sudoku knows that it’s a computer tool, and doesn’t try to be anything else. It doesn’t lie. It plays to it’s strengths— providing a toolset that removes the accounting and memory load in solving a puzzle.
Tap a 1 to highlight all the valid places a 1 could be. Tap a square to highlight only the valid moves for that square.
Just wiped a way a massive amount of load of holding the puzzle in your head. Automatic note taking removes drudgery and repetition.
Good Sudoku gets it.

Good Sudoku has a model of how I’m thinking about the puzzle.
afaik, all the note taking tools get reflected back in which numbers get highlighted. If I rule out a 6 and cross it out in notes, when I tap that square later, a 6 (even tho valid) will not be highlighted.

Good sudoku has a impressive model of how to solve a sudoku puzzle, able to provide specific puzzles that help me practice a particular technique.
I can finally practice sudoku like how I used to practice music.

(There are some bugs here— the puzzles for a technique can be weirdly finicky).
Furthermore, the model can provide real, context sensitive hints, labeled with the technique the puzzle is asking me to perform.
It’s goddamn nice. “There’s a pointing pair here, let’s go through the steps to see that together.”

Remember, I’m the one personalizing this app. It does not go all UwU softness on me. It doesn’t have a name. There’s no fake goggly eyes plastered on.
I can connect with honesty. Good Sudoku is the opposite of a corporate twitter account.

Good Sudoku is my favorite AI. It fails the Turing test. It generalizes for shit. It loves me.
