1/ People have asked me if I was comfortable going back to workouts etc. I had my reservations, I’ve maintained a very tight “pod” since March 12th (E.Coli scare in County before COVID shut down). How could I trust 100+ people to maintain my pod to keep my loved ones safe....
2/ I feel like through growing pains @UCPSNC and @UCPSNCAthletics have established a safe return to play. Yes I was nervous the first few days, I hadn’t seen or interacted with that many people in months. But I immediately started to see why it was important to return...
3/ I heard kids LAUGHING and enjoying being outside with classmates and teammates they hadn’t seen since March... that was the moment I knew it was my time to step up and make sure they had a safe place as an outlet for the unprecedented times we are in... they NEED each other...
4/ They NEED strong guidance and to feel that something is going to be “normal” again soon. It might be tomorrow, next month, next year BUT isolation isn’t healthy. Safe and healthy interactions are imperative for development and mental health.
5/ so as tired as I am asking the Pre-Screening questionairre 100 times a day, saying distance yourselves/separate/ SIX FEET/ mask over your nose and mouth please ... countless times, it is important to give them a safe avenue to be kids
