I have a friend that's a software engineering god that takes out the time to give me DETAILED explanations of computing systems and parts.

I wish I could steal his brain, this stuff is phenomenal!
In my opinion, you are not an expert in anything until you're able to break down complex ideas in the simplest way to people.

This is the same guy that Jensen Huang (CEO of Nvidia) interviewed one on one. He got the job offer by the way, obviously. 😂
